Our curriculum, which was developed by a floral professional with years of retail and teaching experience, covers all aspects of designing and shop management. You'll learn everything from the smallest boutonniere to the largest altar arrangement, all in a relaxed atmosphere.
There is a $75 non refundable registration fee, and the tuition for the comprehensive program is $2,300. This covers all tools, materials, supplies and flowers. Students are asked to provide a camera. There may be a need to pay for metered parking.

Comprehensive Program
The curriculum for our comprehensive program was developed by a floral professional with years of retail and teaching experience, and covers all aspects of designing and shop management. You'll learn everything from the smallest boutonnière to the largest altar arrangement, all in a relaxed atmosphere. This course spans 80 instructional hours, and covers all aspects of floral design, industrial issues, and shop management. |
| A Sampling of Topics covered in the Comprehensive Program
Everyday Designs: basic round arrangement, oblong with candle, basket, mug, wrapped bouquet, vases.
Wedding designs: bridal and bridesmaids' bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages, cake topper, headpiece, flower girl basket, altar basket, duchess rose
Sympathy designs: casket cover, spray, wreath, memorial pillow, rosary
Shop management lectures: delivery, staffing, wedding and sympathy consultations, suppliers, store layout and window display, prepping for holidays, wire services and more!
Short Courses and Hobby Classes
The school also offers workshops and short courses for industry professionals to expand their skills, and for hobbyists to discover fun tips and techniques for floral arranging and design.

Your Instructors
Linda Federman is the owner and director of School of Floral Arts & Design. She is a graduate of the program, and has been in the floral business since 2000. She has owned the School since 2003, and teaches many of its hobby classes, in addition to the day session of the Comprehensive Program.
David Potosnak is the owner of Blooms on Main, in Boonton, NJ. David teaches the night session of the Comprehensive Program, in addition to many of our hobby classes and short courses. [more to come]
